RE/MAX Nigeria Launch - In Pictures

RE/MAX Nigeria Country Director, Mr. M. Kola Diya

RE/MAX Nigeria reflected their ambitions for the Nigerian real estate industry through the reveal of fascinating projects, a special focus on credibility and its transforming effect, inspiring keynote speakers and tackling the hard questions through question and answer sessions. The private launch which was held at Signature Suites, Eko Hotel spanned through 18th September 2015 with breakfast, lunch and dinner sessions which attracted seasoned stakeholders in real estate and real estate servicing organisations, high net worth individuals, and professionals in the banking sector.

Keynote speaker Chip Brekken, director of global development, gave a highly informative and challenging address. Having travelled to many regions across the globe to set up and train at RE/MAX offices, Chip brought a highly statistical view of the wealth of potential there is to be harnessed in Nigerian real estate showing statistics on the population age versus average home buying ages. On the flip side, Thomas Webber, the second keynote speaker spoke on the benefits and in some cases, the disadvantages of franchising with emphasis on real estate. After many years of franchising within the Middle East, and having extensively weighed the options between most, if not all western real estate franchises, he bought into the RE/MAX brand and hasn’t looked back since. He heard of a  “NO NONSENSE Real Estate Company that was different; they thought-outside-the-box; had novel and innovative Marketing Programs; a solid Training Program; phenomenal Growth; a name that was unique: RE/MAX…Real Estate Maximums” He talked delegates through the process of acquiring his master franchise for the entire Middle East and its successful expansion story through franchises owned by forward thinking business in the MENA region.

Taking up the theme, the podium gave way to an inspirational speech delivered by M. Kola Diya, the country director of RE/MAX Nigeria, co-owner Diya Fatimileyin and co. A man willing to take risks – something many might term visionary – already evident in his successful 33 year long career in the industry, boldly pioneering a structured real estate industry. During his speech, he asserted that his move to jump aboard the RE/MAX ship means one of two things, he could be coined a lunatic or a visionary and through his eloquently delivered speech, it was evident he was the latter. He urged delegates to come aboard what he termed to be the more profitable, future and most efficient real estate practice in Nigeria. “We are an industry that is not undergoing evolution or revolution but a metamorphosis.” It is a time to be visionary and now, more than ever.

Throughout the day, the launch allowed plenty of opportunity to look at how the future was already happening now in the successful set up and operations of four (4) growing franchisees within Lagos Nigeria. Delegates were given the opportunity to network and share insights through a highly interactive question and answer session. Issues pertaining to regulation within the system, certification and mode of operations were also addressed at length by the guest speakers and RE/MAX Country director.

As RE/MAX Nigeria gains momentum nationwide and through its unique incentivised agent-centric business model, it will come as no surprise to see them become and surpass industry players in Real Estate in the near future.
